Our Outreach Beneficiary Program provides digital calendar day clocks to facilities — specially designed to help reduce time disorientation for dementia individuals — as well as simple music players and animated, robotic therapy pets designed specifically for dementia patients. The music players are programmable with music themes and are one touch for easy, independent use. The robotic therapy pets provide gentle, comforting companionship that can ease anxiety and promote emotional well-being in ways traditional care cannot always reach. We also fund live music programs with local artists for the entire facility for an even broader reach. Music is one of the last memories to leave a dementia patient and research has proven the immense value of music to memory and calmness of spirit.
In the future, as our funding increases, we envision providing mini grants for durable medical equipment to supplement items for patients not funded by insurance. Examples would include, but not be limited to, specialized wheelchairs, walkers, hearing aids, canes, specialty mattresses, and specialized feeding materials (nose cups, utensils) to name a few.

These ladies traveled to Rolling Hills Nursing and Rehab in Millmont to present a variety of Journey to Justice beneficiary treasures. These gifts will go toward improving the quality of life for those residing in this community.

We are truly grateful to Journey to Justice for selecting Serenity Gardens as a recipient of their beneficiary program. Their generosity and commitment to supporting meaningful initiatives have made a lasting impact on our community.
Last Year, Serenity Gardens was the recipient of birdhouse music boxes and a live musical performance by KJ. Journey to Justice understands that music plays an essential role in dementia care, helping to unlock memories, reduce anxiety, and create moments of connection even when words may no longer come easily. Because of their generosity, our residents are experiencing more moments of engagement, peace, and happiness each day.

Journey to Justice’s beneficiary committee was delighted to deliver two lifelike mechanical companion cats—their gentle purrs feel wonderfully real—and two programmable music birdhouses, generously donated by Dr. Brandon Fiedler (Fiedler Chiropractic) in honor and memory of his Nina, Alice Longenberger to Faith Artley, RN, Director of Nursing at Nursing and Rehabilitation at the Mansion in Sunbury, PA.
Gifts like these truly enhance the quality of life for residents and everyone who interacts with them. It was a joy to share these items with staff, who immediately recognized the comfort and happiness they are sure to bring.
