We are a grassroots movement that grew from the horrific elder abuse of 17 individuals at a memory care facility in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, in 2023. Lynn Fiedler, the founder of the movement, is the daughter of Alice Longenberger, one of the abuse victims. The group was organized after realizing the lack of protection and the injustices of current state laws. Our 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization has fought tirelessly to change the laws and create new ones, including the introduction of new bills in Harrisburg. Much progress has been made with the support of current group members and the work of Senator Lynda Culver, who has introduced key legislation to fight elder abuse in Pennsylvania.
We recognize the vital importance of education and training and have created two curriculums to address this need. We offer a training designed specifically for healthcare professionals and another for the general public to learn more about dementia and navigating the murky areas it often entails. Another branch of our work involves our Outreach Beneficiary Program providing items to facilities to make the lives of the older population happier and safer.
