Susan Miriello
Susan Miriello is a proud member of the Journey to Justice Advisory Board, standing alongside Founder Lynn Fiedler in the mission to raise awareness, strengthen protections, and ensure the rights of older adults are heard. Her commitment is deeply personal, rooted in her own mother’s journey through dementia and elder care.
Laurie Morris
Laurie Morris served as a special education teacher for 27 years, building a career around protecting and advocating for those who cannot advocate for themselves. As a member of the Journey to Justice Advisory Board, she continues that lifelong calling — lending her voice to the mission of safeguarding older adults.
Mary Musser
Mary Musser is a retired professional from the Selinsgrove Center, where she spent her career supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities. As the daughter of a mother with dementia and a close friend of Founder Lynn Fiedler, she understands firsthand the devastating impact of elder abuse and the urgent need for stronger protections. Mary serves on the Journey to Justice Advisory Board because she believes that advocacy for older adults is ultimately advocacy for all of us.
Marilyn Newman
Marilyn K. Newman spent 45 years working in Human Services, supporting people of diverse ages and abilities. She joined the Journey to Justice Advisory Board driven by a simple but powerful belief — that every person deserves dignity, respect, and kindness, regardless of age or circumstance.
Danette Pope
A longtime friend and colleague of Founder Lynn Fiedler, she joined the Journey to Justice Advisory Board after witnessing firsthand the complexities of nursing home care during her own mother’s illness. Her personal experience navigating that world — and Lynn’s steadfast support through it — deepened her commitment to the mission of protecting older adults with dignity and compassion.
Leslie Slaybaugh
After many years as an educator, Leslie Slaybaugh has dedicated time and experience to advocating for the voices of children and now has the opportunity to focus on improving quality of life for older adults through Journey to Justice. As we all begin seeing dementia affecting family members and close friends there is a need to understand the emotional and practical challenges it brings to families. She believes in promoting awareness, compassion, and access to resources that support dignity, connection, and care for those facing cognitive decline and aging-related challenges.
Ann Zimmerman
Ann Zimmerman is a retired elementary teacher and Lutheran Pastor. When she first heard the story of Journey to Justice, Ann felt that she had gifts to share on the advisory board with her experience working in a nursing home throughout the summer of her college years and the visits to congregation members. The mission and goals of Journey to Justice align with Ann’s beliefs that all people should be treated with respect and to help and advocate for the vulnerable among us.
