The Journey to Justice Board of Directors is a dedicated group of professionals and advocates united by a shared commitment to protecting older adults. Drawing on backgrounds in nursing, education, advocacy, and public service, our board members bring both expertise and personal passion to the mission — many touched directly by the very injustices we work to correct.
Lynn Fiedler, President and Founder
Lynn Fiedler is a lifelong educator and advocate who founded Journey to Justice in 2023 after discovering that her mother, Alice, and 16 others had been victims of elder abuse at a personal care facility in Lewisburg, PA. Confronted by a system that offered abusers little legal accountability, she turned personal tragedy into purposeful action. As Founder and President, Lynn is dedicated to giving voice to older adults who have none — continuing her mother’s legacy of service.
Kathleen Ferster, Vice President
Kathleen Ferster is a lifelong Selinsgrove resident whose dedication to older adults began during her teenage years working in nursing home facilities. After 32 years as an educator and champion for children in the Selinsgrove area, she brings that same passion for advocacy to her role as Board Vice President of Journey to Justice — committed to action-based programs that amplify voices and provide meaningful support to vulnerable populations.
Kim Rigel, Treasurer
Kim Rigel is a RN certified in gerontology who has devoted nearly four decades to caring for older adults, with a particular passion for protecting those living with dementia. Since witnessing her first case of elder abuse in 1979, she has been committed to advocacy and change. As Treasurer of Journey to Justice and Lynn Fiedler’s teaching partner, Kim brings both clinical expertise and deep personal experience to the mission of protecting vulnerable older adults.
Ellen Wagner, Secretary
Ellen Wagner serves as Secretary on the Board of Directors for Journey to Justice. With a background in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities and mental health concerns, she brings a deep commitment to dignity and advocacy for vulnerable populations. Ellen is dedicated to advancing the organization’s mission of promoting safety and awareness for older adults through education and community engagement.
Nevin Fiedler, Board Member
Nevin Fiedler holds a degree in Therapeutic Recreation from Penn State University and spent more than 32 years at the Selinsgrove Center, supporting individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities. Having witnessed firsthand the devastating effects of elder abuse on a victim and their family, he brings both professional experience and personal conviction to his role as a Board Member of Journey to Justice. Nevin is committed to improving conditions and protections for older adults and is honored to be part of the organization’s advocacy work.
